[[Ingot (Electrum)]] is a metal alloy. It is used in crafting of various [[:Category:Ship_parts|ship parts]] and electronics. Based on the real-life alloy under the same name (though the latter being a generalized term without a broad industrial use), Electrum combines chemical stability of Gold, lower density of Silver, and the excellent electric conductivity of both, for the use in advanced machinery that requires an increased power throughput.&lt;br /&gt;

It is created by smelting equal parts [[Gold Ore|Gold]] and [[Silver Ore|Silver]] in a [[Furnace]]. The process is similar to the smelting of [[Solder]], however instead of relatively low temperature, Electrum demands a low chamber pressure with a standard operational temperature. The simple approach involves a burning of small amount of fuel to reach the necessary temperature (or injection of atmopsheric gas on hot planets), followed by a controlled release of gas to lower the pressure down to an appropriate range. &lt;br /&gt;

Nevertheless, Stationeers should be mindful of releasing the gas from the Furnace while ignition is still in progress, as burning exhaust may presents an immediate danger to any nearby equipment and the players themselves.&lt;br /&gt;

Using an [[Advanced Furnace]] on Mars it is possible to smelt Inconel by using a gas mix of &lt;br /&gt;
* 50% CO&amp;lt;sub&amp;gt;2&amp;lt;/sub&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
* 33% H&amp;lt;sub&amp;gt;2&amp;lt;/sub&amp;gt; ( = 66% /2 )&lt;br /&gt;
* 17% O&amp;lt;sub&amp;gt;2&amp;lt;/sub&amp;gt; ( = 34% /2)&lt;br /&gt;
*  at 291K (18&amp;amp;deg;C)&lt;br /&gt;
Pressurize the furnace to over 2100 kPa.  After igniting this will give you a pressure of 26800 kPa and temperature of 1900K.  As the reagents melt, the temperature will decrease and with it the pressure.  Unless the furnace is in a vacuum, it will conduct heat to the surrounding atmosphere and eventually drop to the 24MPa level and you can dispense the ingot.  If the furnace &#039;&#039;is&#039;&#039; in a vacuum, you can activate the output pump of the furnace (start at 1L) to bring the pressure down.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This recipe was tested in creative to create a 25g ingot of inconel from 50g of gold ore, 25g of nickel ore, and 50g of steel ingot.  Larger batches will probably require a higher starting pressure to provide enough energy to melt the increased mass.&lt;br /&gt;
