Description
The Advanced Furnace is used to create advanced alloys, but can be used to create basic alloys as well. It lends itself to automation.
The Maximum pressure for the furnace is 60 MPa before the furnace will,in short order, explode.
Adding Hydrocarbons, IE coal, will increase the pressure.
Contains two embedded volume pumps to control flow in and out, in order to use them, the furnace must be powered, and setting both to zero will put the furnace in a state of quiescence, but the furnace will slowly lose pressure and temperature. The capacity of the furnace is in excess of 5kg of materials so using the full 500g ingots to make an alloys is possible.

Usage
While it is possible to operate the advanced furnace similar to a regular furnace (add fuel, ignite, add ore), the two most common setups for advanced furnaces are:
* fuel mixing
* hot and cold mixing

fuel mixing
In this setup, the furnace's input is connected to a gas mixer to provide fuel, and often a dilutant (used to increase the pressure without spending extra fuel). The Furnace temperature and pressure math article contains formulas useful for crafting recipes to hit temperature and pressure targets.

hot and cold mixing
This setup involves a hot tank and a cold tank of gasses, which are then mixed to achieve a target temperature and pumped in to achieve the target pressure. On most worlds maintaining a cold tank is quite easy (because the atmosphere on most worlds is below the temperature needed to smelt ore). Maintaining a hot tank is a little trickier, and either involves a lot of energy spent on Pipe Heaters, or an auxiliary furnace to combust fuel and pipe the exhaust into an insulated tank. Another easier option is to have the entire setup, furnace, pipes and tanks, in an enclosed vacuum chamber, so heat remains in the gases. Note that the outside atmosphere on worlds with no air doesn't count, it must be an enclosed chamber with all air pumped out

}}
Description
Used to crush ice into liquids and/or gases.

The Ice Crusher has two outputs at the back, which can be connected to Pipes (yellow) and Liquid Pipes (blue) to extract the products. The top output is for Gas outputs, and the bottom output is for Liquids.

Different kinds of Ice can be crushed:
:Ice (Water) produces liquid Water and Nitrogen gas (80% water, 20% nitrogen)
:Ice (Oxite) produces Oxygen and Nitrogen gas (90% Oxygen, 10% nitrogen)
:Ice (Volatiles) produces Hydrogen gas (100% Hydrogen)

Refilling Water Bottles Early Game
The Ice Crusher can be used to get drinkable water early on, by connecting it to a Water Bottle Filler using Liquid Pipes and piping the Nitrogen out with a pump or an active vent to avoid blocking the Crusher.
Note however that if done inside, this could lead to pressure accumulating over time, which could be dangerous if not eventually upgraded to a more robust gas handling system.

Notes
* It can be safely used in higher temperature environments if the ice is transferred instantly into the crusher from the mining belt.
* When using it for crushing Ice (Water), 20% Nitrogen gas is still produced, and care must be taken to avoid overpressurization over time.
* It is not insulated, so the gases and/or liquids it contains will equalize temperature with the environment.
* Must be kept turned on to release the liquids and/or gases it contains.

<!--T:6-->
Easiest way to get this is as follows:

<!--T:7-->
# Hook up a release valve to the outgoing pipe on the furnace.
# Open the valve to release all pressure and don't forget to close after that.
# Put in 12 oxide and 25 volatiles or small amount 3 oxide and 6 volatiles.
# Put in 150 iron and 150 nickel. You can put bigger amount eg. 200 iron and 200 nickel.
# Release the pressure until you get to 7MPa or with small amount of oxide and volatiles just wait until pressure drop.
# Profit!

== Description == <!--T:2-->
Gas Canister is used to store gasses. The gasses can then be output at a rate of 101.325 kPa per tick. Over-pressurizing the canister will cause it to explode. The "standard pressure" when spawned is defined as 8106 kPa, or 80 Earth Atmospheres. The maximum pressure for a canister is 10.132 MPa, or 100 atmospheres. Its internal volume is 64 Litres.

Usage
To fill the canister, place it into a Gas Tank Storage unit connected to a pipe network carrying gas (equalising the pressure in the network and canister). It can also be refilled by inserting it into the striped area above of the Portable Tank.

When held in the hands or directly from the spacesuit, a canister can be opened, causing its contents to equalise with the atmosphere (or contents of a sealed room).

Used In
* EVA Suit and Hardsuit for Breathable Gas and Waste
== Description == <!--T:2-->
Used to move gasses from pipes, by using its inward or outward switches. It needs to be powered to function.

Active vents have a build-in pressure sensor and will use it to try to set the room pressure to the value of the "PressureExternal" parameter. A vent operating in Outward mode will stop when the pressure is greater than or equal to this value. A vent operating in Inward mode will stop when the pressure is less than or equal to this value. It seems to be very good about hitting the target pressure. This parameter is set to its default values every time the mode switch is used, so when adjusting it in MIPS code remember to set the Mode first, and then set PressureExternal. Default values are 101kPa for Outward and 0kPa for Inward.

This reset behavior can be inconvenient on worlds like Loulan whose atmosphere is well above 101kPa. Manually-operated "airlocks" for greenhouses can not pump back up to Loulan atmosphere during the exit cycle. If the pressure is already >101kPa the vent will have no effect, and if it is <101kPa the vent will stop when it reaches 101kPa.

Note: The insert slot currently takes any item and seems to have no effect.
