The game presents a variety of science-based survival problems that you must address. Resource and time pressures will drive your initial designs, but the demands of a thriving station will guide you later.

== History ==
Stationeers was originally concepted as a 1st person adaptation of [https://spacestation13.com Space Station 13]. As the game grew, it was also used by RocketWerkz as an onboarding project for new employees. During early access, it has seen periods of rapid development and changes as well as lulls. It has seen a number of gameplay mechanics that came and went, such as mothership construction, research progression trees, and player-manned interplanetary rockets.
