Description
The Fire Extinguisher (Reusable) is a handheld fire suppression tool. Unlike its predecessor the Fire Extinguisher, it does not carry a fixed charge — instead it accepts a replaceable Liquid Canister or Liquid Canister (Smart) which can be refilled and swapped out.
Its canister slot is insulated, allowing safe long-term use of cryogenic inert liquids such as Liquid Nitrogen or Liquid Carbon Dioxide.
Usage
Equip the extinguisher and insert a liquid canister filled with a compatible liquid. Activate to spray. While activated the extinguisher will extinguish fires, release its contents into atmosphere, remove 20kJ/tick of heat energy from the surrounding atmosphere (if above 20°C) and prevent reignition for five seconds after you stop spraying.
The canister must be at least 99% inert by content — spraying a canister containing oxygen, fuel, or any other reactive substance will not suppress the fire, and any liquid sprayed will still be released into the atmosphere.
Spray duration
Spray rate is fixed at 0.25 liters per second regardless of canister type.
| Canister | Usable Capacity | Spray Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Liquid Canister | ~12 L | ~48 seconds |
| Liquid Canister (Smart) | ~18 L | ~72 seconds |
Compatible liquids
The following liquids are considered inert and will allow the extinguisher to suppress fires:
